Title

His Work

It is the stunning images he produces - often of rock fragments millions of years old and about to be lost forever - that have forged his growing reputation.
His work is featured in exhibitions and on the walls of homes and businesses across the country at all is largely thanks to a chance meeting over a cup of tea with acclaimed Yorkshire-based landscape painter Peter Hicks.

Much of his work focuses on the very small - a corner of a rock pool, a handful of pebbles washed by the sea, the strange lines sculpted by the tide in sand, and most recently the intense colour of newly exposed rocks – that most of us miss as we enjoy the breathtaking landscape around the Whitby area. For his most recent work Neil headed down to favoured locations such as Runswick Bay and Saltwick Bay when storms broke down the cliff face. He took close-ups of rocks stained by iron ore, quartz, mud and coal – intense colours locked away for millions of years.
